Have you been paying attention to your thoughts?
If you aren’t sure what your thoughts have been doing whilst you haven’t been paying attention, just take a look at what your life looks like right now.
The results in your life are a direct reflection on the thoughts you’ve been carrying.
You see, your thoughts determine the actions you take. And the bottom line is, the actions you take determine the results you get to experience in life.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that things outside of your control don’t happen. Of course they do. But how you respond to those events does make a difference to the results you get in life. And how you respond – that is, the actions you take, they’ll be driven by how you think.
It all comes down to your thoughts.
As Marianne Williamson says:
You Must Learn a New Way to Think Before You Can Master a New Way to Be
Who you are on the outside and what your life looks like on the outside, they are shaped by what happens on the inside. Your habits, reactions, and choices all begin as thoughts. If your thinking stays the same, your actions will continue to follow the same familiar paths that they’ve been following up until now, giving your exactly the same results that you’ve been experiencing up until now.
Learning a New Way to Think
Learning a new way to think doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect or ignoring challenges. It means becoming aware of your thoughts and questioning whether they are true, helpful, or necessary.
A new way of thinking might sound like:
- “I can do this, even if it feels scary.”
- “Failure is simply feedback. I always learn something new.”
- “I and everything around me doesn’t have to be perfect before I start.”
This kind of thinking opens doors. Over time, you’ll find that your new thoughts will drive new actions—and those new actions will create different results.
Just remember, creating change in your life is an inside-out process. When you learn to think differently, you will act differently, it stands to reason that new results will then naturally flow on.
