Failure develops wisdom

Did you know that it is said that Thomas Edison failed at least 1,000 times before he successfully invented the light bulb. However, he didn’t see 1,000 failures. He used each unsuccessful attempt to apply what he learned to the next attempt.

One of our greatest fears in trying something new is that it won’t work and that we’ll fail.  And that fear of failure, and all that comes with it – embarrassment, ridicule, feeling useless, etc. – it keeps people stuck.

When you want to try something different for your life, you need to think like Thomas Edison and reframe how you choose to perceive attempts that don’t work. Failure is feedback. You learn something new from each attempt, and apply what you’ve learned to the next attempt.

That’s how you make progress towards creating the changes you are seeking for your life.
