Taking Risks

Everything in life requires some degree of risk taking, even getting out of bed. You could sprain an ankle when you put your foot down and trip over a rug or a slipper.

Okay. That’s unlikely to happen, but you cannot rule it out 100%.

So, even though there is some risk, you don’t stay huddled up in bed just in case you might sprain an ankle.

But what about bigger risks? Speaking up in the team meeting. Booking that flight to go travelling on your own? Saying hello to that stranger who caught your eye.

All of these require some degree of risk-taking, yet these are real scenarios where people often shy away from taking a chance on doing something different.

It takes courage to do something different. It takes courage to simply try to do something different.  The risk is that it might not work. Buy not trying means nothing will change.
