John Quincy Adams once said:
“Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish. A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle.”
(For those of us who aren’t familiar with American history, John Quincy Adams was the sixth President of the United States).
As Adams points out, patience and perseverance enable us to approach challenges and setbacks with a persistent commitment to seeing them through, and by doing so, those obstacles that we think are impossible to overcome, well, they begin to fade away and we can achieve what we set out to achieve.
The second part of the quote reminds us that the true value of knowledge isn’t just in possessing it, but actually in applying it. What’s important is what we do with what we know.
That quote is a call to action:
it’s asking each of us to take that head knowledge and convert it into tangible outcomes and results!
So, a great question each of us should ask ourselves is: What am I doing with what I know?
